Predicting Dimensions Using Automation

Adding cost centers/dimensions/calculation targets/tracking targets to purchase invoices can be handled automatically either by AI prediction or rule-based methods. However, it is important to understand when automation can be utilized. In both cases, the addition of calculation targets must be based on some logical cause-and-effect relationship that can be inferred from the invoice data.

AI predictions

On March 4, 2025, a feature was added to the FabricAI portal where selecting dimensions (button circled in yellow in the image below) can open a window suggesting the training of AI dimension predictions.
The suggestion appears within 24 hours if the client is new and has dimensions in the accounting program.
For old clients, prediction is suggested if more than 10 significant changes have been made to dimensions in the last 14 days.

Predictions can be activated for the proposed dimension level by selecting “Accept”. By selecting “Ask later”, the window will open again in a week.

Automation rule-based

If AI does not succeed in predicting calculation targets, FabricAI's own manual rules can be utilized in automation. We then ask you to describe as accurately as possible what you want to predict, based on what information, where the information is found, and whether invoice or line item information is sought. A calculation target can be set based on the following information:

• Supplier name
• Delivery address
• Billing address
• Line item / description / what was purchased
• References
• Predicted account

If the addition of calculation targets is based on line item or reference added by the client or supplier, it is important that the information is consistent, unambiguous, and permanent. Examples of practices that facilitate automation:

1. For calculation target 1, all expenses where the line description includes the registration number “ABC-123” or “last four digits of the card 1234”
2. For calculation target Helsinki, all expenses where the line description includes the word “Helsinki”
3. For calculation target Cottage, all invoices where the invoice delivery address is “Mökkitie”
4. For calculation target 1, all food purchases with vat 14%
